Arrival Day: Welcome to Moshi, Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be met by our friendly team and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. Here, you’ll have time to relax, recover from your journey, and receive a detailed pre-trek briefing to prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 1: Into the Green (Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut)

After breakfast, we drive to Arusha National Park and complete registration formalities at Momella Gate (1,500 meters). The trek begins with a gentle hike through lush montane forests, home to colobus monkeys, giraffes, and vibrant birdlife. You’ll enjoy scenic views of Mount Meru’s towering cliffs and waterfalls as you ascend toward Miriakamba Hut.

Day 2: Up into the Rocks (Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut)

Today’s hike leads you through beautiful forest and heathland. As you gain altitude, the vegetation becomes sparser, giving way to giant heathers and open rocky ridges. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Meru Crater and even glimpses of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days. We reach Saddle Hut by early afternoon, giving you time to rest or take an optional short hike to Little Meru (3,820 meters) for acclimatization.

Day 3: Summit Day! (Saddle Hut to Socialist Peak to Miriakamba Hut)

We start the climb to the summit just after midnight under a blanket of stars. The trail is steep and challenging, but the reward is beyond words. After reaching the summit at Socialist Peak (4,566 meters) at sunrise, you’ll be treated to spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the sprawling plains of Tanzania. After celebrating your achievement, we descend back to Saddle Hut for a short rest, then continue down to Miriakamba Hut for the night.

Day 4: Back to the Gate (Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate)

After a relaxed breakfast, we descend through the forest trails back to Momella Gate. Along the way, you may spot more wildlife and enjoy your final moments in this beautiful park. At the gate, you’ll receive your summit certificate before being driven back to Moshi.
